1. The move record
Pickup and delivery dates, addresses, inventory lists, packing records, and photographs from before and after the move.

2. The damaged or missing items
Descriptions, quantities, purchase dates, receipts, model or serial numbers, and available pre-loss photos.

3. The insurance documents
Homeowners, renters, commercial, or separately purchased moving insurance, including endorsements and item schedules.

4. The claim file
Insurer correspondence, claim number, repair findings, replacement information, and receipts for necessary protective expenses.

Preserve original records. Notify your insurer promptly and follow your policy duties. Do not send sensitive records in an initial email. Coverage depends on your policy and facts; this checklist does not determine coverage.
